Onla Oma (Bodo Style Pork Curry with Rice Flour)


  • 500 gm pork, curry cut
  • 15-20 slit green chillies
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 2 tbsp rice flour, mixed with 100 ml water
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cooking soda

Method –

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add the sliced onions and slit green chillies
  3. Sauté on medium heat until the onions turn golden
  4. Add the pork pieces
  5. Add salt. Stir well. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes
  6. Stir occasionally
  7. After 15 minutes, add turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste
  8. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes
  9. Add 3 cups of water , let it come to a boil.
  10. Cover and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
  11. Add the rice flour paste, lower the heat and cook for 5 minutes
  12. Add the soda, stir continuously for 2 minutes and switch off the flame
